I've been going up to Lincoln, NH for almost 3 years now. Some of my fondest recent memories are of Loon Mountain, the way everything is quiet on North Peak as you take the long trail down. Lincoln itself rocks too, the people are great, there are some really scrumptious and quaint restaurants around town and there is a ton of nature to take in around Franconia notch.
My family hasn't vacationed much lately because of the down economy, we were in the cycle of going to Loon about twice per winter until recently. Things picked up a bit at the beginning of this year though, and we found a great
Loon ski and stay package that let us get back into the groove of relaxation, hitting the slopes, and sipping hot chocolate by the fire. It was pretty much a 3 night long weekend, which included 2 free adult lift tickets with it. The hotel was right at the base of South Mountain, and had a shuttle that took us around for free too.
Anyhow, its great to get back to Loon's slopes and Lincoln and everything great that comes with it.
