WHAT IS THIS COMMUNITY?
Welcome to the Loon Online Community! This site was created as a place for Loon skiers and riders to connect, share stories, post photos and videos, and discuss topics related to Loon Mountain, skiing and snowboarding. It's a place to connect with some of the people who make Loon Mountain fun. The Loon Marketing and Communications team participates actively and is here to offer up helpful info and answer any of your questions. You'll also find employees from various other departments who are here to interact and help keep you up to date on what's happening at Loon.

The community is open to everyone of all ages, and we do our best to ensure it is a safe and fun environment for everyone involved. Take a moment to check out our User Guidelines below, and thanks for joining.

GUIDELINES:
If this community were a movie, it would probably be rated PG-13. In order to keep it acceptable to all, we have a few rules/guidelines:

Registration: You must be a registered member of the community in order to post photos and videos or to participate in forum discussions. Unregistered users can still view content, but cannot contribute.

Forums and Blogs: The Forum provides Loon Community members with a place to connect, share, and discuss matters related to Loon Mountain. Criticisms are perfectly acceptable and are welcomed, as long as the discussions remain civil and respect the following guidelines:

  • Language: Keep it clean. If you make a post containing obscenities, we'll ask you to edit it. If you don't edit it, we'll simply delete it.
  • Flaming: Posts that are abusive, obscene, vulgar, slanderous, hateful, threatening, and contribute little or nothing to the conversation (also known as flaming) are not allowed. Persistent offenders will be warned, and may be banned if the behavior continues.
  • Trolling: Any post made purely to instigate conflict (also known as trolling) will be deleted. Persistent offenders will be warned, and may be banned if the behavior continues.
  • Duplicate Discussions: If a discussion of a certain topic is already going on, please do not start a separate discussion of the same topic. Duplicate discussions will be closed and redirected to the current thread.
  • Advertisements: Commercial advertisements for products and services you or your company offer are not permitted unless it is part of a partnership with Loon Mountain, and you have received permission from Loon Community administrators to do so. Individual users are allowed to post items for rent or for sale that are related to skiing or snowboarding. No non-transferable items may be sold, including but not limited to lift tickets for Loon Mountain or other resorts.
  • Politics: Politics are interesting and there are lots of great places to discuss them. This isn't one of them.
  • Photos and Videos: Loon Community members are able to contribute photos and videos, provided they keep us within our PG-13 rating. Any photos or videos containing nudity or depictions of illegal activity will be deleted. Quick tip: If you have a secret powder stash that you don't want people poaching, it's probably not a good idea to post a video of it--just a thought.
We tend to be fairly easy-going and our members tend to be pretty reasonable folks. Any violations of these guidelines are generally taken care of with a simple warning, but we reserve the right to ban permanently any member who is continually in violation of the User Guidelines.

And, because it's a good idea: Any opinions posted to the Loon Mountain Community reflect the views of the author and do not necessarily reflect the views of Loon Mountain or its partners.

Comments: I hope talking about how nice Mother Nature is being to us doesn't jinx us, but we still have a couple more days of April like weather ahead of us before any probable changes occur. In the meantime, we're looking at some classic Spring conditions and we're making every effort to maintain the trails with something to satisfy everyone. Moguls, groomed cruisers and several trails left untouched for skiers and riders who like the challenge of ungroomed terrain. It looks like the overnight will be warmer than previous nights, so look for trails to start out a little softer tomorrow morning. As the day wears on, listen to your body and take a break from time to time. There are a lot of places to relax and enjoy the fresh air and sunshine. Have a good one! -Bud
