Loon Mountain Community

A network for skiers & riders passionate about snow sports

Our Hot Dog Festival is coming up this Saturday, July 25. It's when we pay homage to America's favorite summer diet buster- the hot dog. This year, we're getting all Emeril and kicking things up a notch with our Table of Terrific Toppings. If it's meant to be squirted, dripped, dropped, or gently placed in the bun with the hot dog- we'll have it. We'll also have some gastronomic delights that you may never had considered dog-worthy. This is not for the faint of gut- please don't ask for a tofu-dog. (Ok... you can- we'll have them, but you may get a strange look from our grill master.)

What makes this day even better is that you get to listen to the groovy tunes of the Crunchy Western Boys. They will be playing on the Octagon Patio from noon until 4:00 p.m. This is a great way to let things "settle" before heading over to our Adventure Center for our new bungee trampoline.

The Hot Dog Buffet will be open from 11:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. A bracelet can be purchased for $8 which includes all-you-can-eat dogs, Woodstock Station Root Beer, and an ice cream treat. We will also be selling kid beverages (soda/water) and adult beverages (beer.)

Comments: Keep doing doing your snow dance, please. Some predictions are that we could see 4-7 inches of snow in the base areas and 20-30 inches above 2000 feet! Add those accumulations to our current base depths and the post-storm skiing and riding will be epic! The plan is for all 49 trails, five glades and both half-pipes to be open tomorrow. Terrain Park Rangers will be re-working all five parks and hope to get some open by afternoon. The sun returns early in the week, along with temperatures in the upper 40s, just in time for Wednesday's "Luck of the Irish" race. Saturday is the Governor's Cup and next Sunday is the Cardboard Box race. A lot happening over the last half of the month and we hope you're able to join us for the fun. Have a good one! -Bud
